The journey into product management can be daunting, especially for individuals transitioning from no -technical backgrounds or those just starting their careers. Entry level Product Managers often struggle to find adequate resources needed to help them grow in their product management journey. Resources ranging from Interview Tips and Questions, PRD templates, Cover letters, Portfolio tips and many more. To address this gap, we previously launched “100 Interview Questions for Entry-Level Product Managers,” an open-source project aimed at simplifying the interview preparation process. And now extension of the resources to not only cater to interview questions but to other beneficial resources needed for the Product Managers in the Community.
Our goal is to empower aspiring PMs with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed, helping to reduce barriers and foster a new wave of skilled professionals in the field of product management. Additionally, we aim to build a go-to resource library that serves both aspiring and experienced Product Managers, offering valuable insights and tools for their growth.
Breaking into product management can be especially challenging for entry-level PMs in Nigeria, where many aspiring PMs struggle to navigate their first interviews. One of the key hurdles they face is the lack of accessible resources that provide insight into the interview process, common questions, and the preparation required to succeed. This reality resonates with many, as the contributors of this project have all experienced similar struggles during their own transitions into product management.
We launched the first version of this library with interview questions spanning across four categories, and have since gotten positive feedback from various product management communities, with over 3000 views. As we’ve interacted with numerous entry-level PMs, this challenge has been a recurring theme.
This open-source project is our response to this gap. It aims to address the challenges faced by aspiring PMs by providing a comprehensive library that caters to fundamental resources entry level product managers tend to face.
